Troy, PA - Memorial Auditorium - December 12, 2025
Robert "Bob" Hettich was inducted into the Troy Area School District (TASD) Foundation's Hall of Distinguished Alumni at Memorial Auditorium. High school students, Foundation Dignitaries including Past Award Winners, and members of the Hettich family were on hand to witness the unveiling of the official portrait. Superintendent, Brad Feldmeier, provided opening remarks about the Troy Area School District as being "not normal", but with a unique community support system.
Hillary Pautz Saxton, newly named Committee Chair, oversaw the process, arranged the ceremony and welcomed the family back to Troy High School. Evan Williams III, Vice-President of the Foundation, encouraged students attending to serve their community and presented the award posthumously to the family. The Troy High School Concert Choir sang The National Anthem and the Concert Band played the Trojan Alma Mater.
Darin Hettich, Bob's son, accepted the award and spoke of the great impact the Troy High School and its teachers had on his father. He remembered his father believing that small gestures, words of encouragement, and dedicated service can have a great impact on individuals and the community as a greater whole.
The newly unveiled portrait will be hung in Memorial Auditorium's Hall of Distinguished Alumni. The Foundation conducts a public nomination process each year with applications due on September 1st.
